April 29th, 2007 was a wonderful sunny day. A club outing to the
Mold Model Engineering Society track at Northop (Llaneurgain)
was an outstanding success. MMES were very hospitable and
provided all facilities for a splendid running day. A good
turnout of our members and their engines and lots of enjoyable
running took place. Here are just a few shots that I took of
a couple of engines - I spent most of the day trying to get
the Sweet Pea to run, but she was having a bad day....
Henry Wood, driving Daresbury with Duncan Webster and son Ian
approaching the traverser in the woods.
The same crossing the traverser for the outer loop.
Likewise climbing the rise to the summit.
Henry riding Daresbury solo on the Viaduct.
The supports go 14 feet into the rather soft ground!
Henry driving through the woods along the back of the outer loop.
Henry disappearing into the distance amid the swathes of wild
garlic.
Dave Mulholland, driving Torquay Manor, with Roy Allen and Mike
Charlton, approaching the tunnel.
Stopped at the lights. Dave, Roy and Mike waiting for a green
at the footbridge, approaching the station.
A couple of additional photos contributed by Roy Allen:
Barrie Purslow with his Duchess
Barry Harrison waiting on Daresbury for a green light.
Photo taken from the footbridge near the station.
Barry wishes to point out that this is not his most flattering
aspect as it reveals the deficiencies of his hairstyle.
And some photos sent in by Barry himself:
Barry Purslow biting his tongue as he mutters to Bill
Underwood:
"And you mean that these shiny brass bits actually do
something?"
Emma Victoria, Henry Wood's beautiful little saddle tank loco.
Dave Mulholland and Barry Purslow on the steaming bays
at MMES' track.
