New Riding Trucks

We are building new riding trucks to replace the rather elderly ones currently in use. Here are some photo taken during the construction. We plan to have 4 short trucks (driver plus one passenger) and 4 long trucks (driver plus 4? passengers).

	A nice collection of wheels - 16 pairs of large wheels for the long trucks, plus 6 pairs of smaller ones for three of the short trucks. The other 2 pairs had already been assembled into the prototype chassis!

	Another view of the wheels. These had all been assembled by Henry Wood and he needed the space in his workshop so he brought them all down to the track.
	After an interesting session during which the trucks were assembled, disassembled, reassembled, disassembled again.... We finally ended up with four short truck chassis. It remains to make and assembly the side sheets and seat cushions. Rumours that they are to be covered in pink velvet have been strenuously denied!
Another view of the four trucks. These were tested on the main track and found to be very smooth running, light and with excellent brakes. Hopefully both the short and long trucks will all be completed in time for next seasons running!
